Albin Lee Meldau – ”På Svenska”

Albin Lee Meldau’s lyrics are both poetic and touching and that, together with the beautiful melodies and his breathtaking voice, shows his amazing ability to tell stories. On the new album titled ”På Svenska” (via Sony Music) he delivers great folk/pop/progg in Swedish. The lyrics deal with topics such as drugs and alcohol, regret, self-examination and politics. And his own abuse runs like a red thread through the album.

When I started working on the album artwork and packaging, I wanted to communicate the feeling of a Swedish crooner, with one foot in the past and one foot in the present. I worked on a custom-built font for the logo, which feels both modern but still worn. Clean and neatly printed on a glossy paper, yet with a sense of texture.

Both the vinyl edition and the CD package blend tightly together, and speak the same clear graphic language. The album was also released on streaming services in two different stages. First ”Side A”, and then a unique mirrored image to give the feeling of a ”Side B”
