Anna Ternheim – ”All The Way To Rio”

Anna Ternheim’s sixth album ”All The Way To Rio” (via Universal Music/Capitol) was no easy process. She went to Rio to write songs for a month but did not come home with more than a few vague demos. Ten more days of jamming and searching in the Atlantis studio in Stockholm ended up in what the artist herself describes as chaos. 

But when the photographer Jacob Felländer heard the music and Anna saw his photos for an upcoming exhibition, everything fell into place. The songs not only sounded like an obvious soundtrack to the show, Ternheim finally understood how she could make an album out of them.

The big design challenge was to get the rich and massive photographic material to still feel airy a book and on a cover. Along with color coordination, mixed with handwritten text phrases and a visual layout, the package became both unique and appealing.

The result is a dazzlingly beautiful packaging, including a 20-page art book with photographs by artist Jacob Felländer.

Two remixed tracks (digital release only) were also included in the ”All The Way To Rio” album cycle, which also went in the same visual direction and theme.
